The principle behind the spring loaded castors is simple but effective. Unloaded the spring is extended and the feet of the steps have ground clearance. The steps are mobile to be manouvered. But as soon as the steps are stood on, so when body weight is applied, the spring retracts and the feet of the steps lower to stand firm on the ground.
Spring loaded castors are available with a fixed or swivel base and the spring loaded fitting is equipped with a side mounting plate for easy fixing.
