Indexing plungers are also known as index bolts. The function is simple, to lock, adjust and locate a movable element to a certain position.
In the indexing plungers, a pin provides the arresting mechanism. This pin is spring-loaded and is retracted by means of a knob, lip or ring. Some indexing plungers are equipped with a so-called locking position, which allows the pin to be locked in a retracted position.
Indexing plungers and index bolts are generally screw-mounted by means of threads ranging from M8 to M20, but weldable versions are also possible. Indexing plungers are available in various sizes and models in steel or stainless steel.
