Handwheels are control elements that allow precise manual adjustment of spindles and axes. Handwheels are therefore often used on machines including lathes and milling machines or on valves in technical installations.
Perhaps the best-known form is the spoked handwheel and standardised to DIN 950 and DIN 951. The DIN 950 has a round bore and the DIN 951 has a square bore. Handwheels are also available in many other designs, such as solid dished handwheels, designs with different spoke numbers, etc. In terms of materials, there is a choice of aluminium, stainless steel or various plastics.
