Double locking and sealing washer
- These insulating double locking and sealing washers are suitable for hexagon bolts and nuts from M2 to M20
- Combines 3 functions in one washer:
- Locking & securing: during tightening, the raised faceted edges are squashed. Thus creating an exceptionally high coefficient of friction, which secures the screw connection against loosening
- Leak tight seal: the inner raised facet edge squeezes between thread and surrounding hole, resulting in a leak-tight seal (provided the mounting hole is not too oversized)
- Insulation: the threaded connection is electrolytically separated from other materials to prevent galvanic corrosion. Ideally applied in combination with an insulating sleeve. (see illustration)
- Protects underlying surfaces, e.g. coatings, from damage.
- Dampens vibrations
- The Polyamide (Nylon) used is corrosion-resistant and possesses considerable chemical resistance
- These double-faceted nylon washers with sealing and insulating properties are used in, for example, the shipping industry, vehicle construction and mechanical engineering. Particularly in joints where securing, sealing and insulation against galvanic corrosion is required.
