Locking and sealing rings Nyltite® - rolled collars
- Nyltite® locking and sealing rings with rolled collars are available for thread sizes from M3 to M12
- Washer and seal in one, is an extruded tube shape of polyamide (Nylon) with a rolled collar
- The rolled collar ensures both locking and sealing
- Protects the underlying surface (coatings, etc.) against friction under the bolt head or nut
- Insulating properties:
- Electrical insulation, also preventing galvanic corrosion
- Vibration insulation, prevents loosening of screw fasteners, a common problem with conventional washers, and also reduces noise
- Thermal insulation
- Pressure tight - example: at M10 over 15 Bar
- Good chemical resistance to salt water, hot oils, refrigerants, alkalis, diluted mineral acids and most solvents and chemicals
- Temperature resistance from -56 °C up to +120 °C
- Natural lubricating properties of the plastic reduce the torque required during installation
- This seal is especially recommended for manual assemblies
- Nyltite® locking and sealing rings, also called Nyltite® rolled collars are used in construction, transport, industrial, marine, aeronautical and electronic applications, where locking, sealing, electrical and galvanic-insulating properties are required.
