What types of threaded rods are available?
Verpas supplies threaded rods in metal and plastic that comply with DIN 975 and 976 standards. Metal threaded rods are available in galvanised steel with strength class 4.8 and 8.8 or in stainless steel (INOX) A2 strength class 70. In addition, plastic threaded rods are standard available in polyamide (Nylon) and on request also in other plastics like polypropylene or high-quality PVDF.
The threaded rods and threaded studs in our range are available in metric threads from M3 to M36 inclusive. Popular threaded rod sizes are M8, M10, M12, M16 and M20. The available lengths are standardised at 1, 2 or 3 metres. In addition, the range also includes threaded studs in lengths starting at 20 mm increasing by 5 mm. Specific lengths are also available on request.
What are threaded rods used for?
The application possibilities for threaded rods and threaded studs are very versatile. As mentioned in the previous section, there are many applications within the construction industry. Ranging from the assembly of several components to the suspension of pipes, ducts and technical installations.
Metal threaded rods and threaded studs are simply the most commonly used. The application of plastic threaded rods is often more specific, for example:
- Weight saving - plastic is lightweight
- Contact noise reduction, thermal or electrical insulation
- Chemical resistance to acids, bases and salts
