What types and qualities of self adhesive felt are there?
Adhesive backed felt comes in many types and qualities. Basically, we distinguish between felt made of synthetic fibres, 100% wool fibres or a mix of synthetic and wool fibres. Each type of felt has its own characteristic properties.
In addition, the felt has been subjected to a certain pressing, giving it a certain softness or hardness. Thus, there are many differences in the felt quality. Verpas only sells high-quality felt with a strong and good adhesive backing.
In what shapes is adhesive felt available?
Self-adhesive Felt pads are available in different shapes, such as round, square and rectangular. In addition, strips and rolls of self-adhesive felt are also available. Custom-made solutions are also possible with regard to specific shapes and/or felt qualities.
Regardless of the shape, adhesive felt is available in thicknesses from 0.4 mm to 80 mm. Our standard range of adhesive felt is offered in thicknesses from 1.5mm to 5mm. In addition to shape and thickness, the adhesive felt is also available in various colours, such as black, white, brown, beige and grey.
Which uses of adhesive felt are possible?
Self-adhesive felt is commonly used as felt glide under chairs and other pieces of furniture to protect flooring, create better gliding properties and possibly reduce noise and vibrations. Felt is suitable for many floor types. But there are more applications.
As mentioned, felt improves gliding and sliding properties and dampens noise and vibrations. That is why adhesive felt is also used in sliding and gliding structures, such as sliding doors in furniture and even sliding patio doors. In mechanical engineering, too, the use of felt is not unusual because of its gliding properties, damping effect and other mechanical or thermal properties. In short, adhesive felt is more versatile than just furniture felt glide.
