Masking tape

Masking tapes are used to mask certain surfaces during pre-processing and surface treatment. As these processes place specific demands on masking tapes, it is very important to apply the right masking tape.

What types of masking tape are there?

Each treatment process imposes specific requirements on masking tapes. For example, temperature or chemical resistance may play a role. To meet those specific requirements, masking tapes are available in various materials, such as:

  • Polyester – temperature resistance max +218°C
suitable for powder coating, anodising, E-coating and galvanic surface treatments
  • Polyamide – electrically insulating, insulation class H, max +260°C
suitable for powder coating, E-coating and SMT soldering
  • Fiberglass textile - electrically insulating, insulation class H, max +280°C
suitable for thick powder coating, E-coating, blasting, thermal spraying and plasma spraying
  • Crepe – temperature resistance max +160°C
suitable for various wet painting, anodising and E-coating processes
  • Lead foil – electrically conductive, acid resistant, max +135°C
suitable for anodising, cadmium plating, nickel plating and chromium plating

Some of these tapes are sold through our webshop. Tapes that are not listed online are available on request. We will gladly inform you about the possibilities.
